Stray dog runs 1,100 miles with cyclists across China

Posted May 29 by Fido
This story really touched me this week.    The loyalty that is possible from our four legged friends is demonstrated beyond belief in this story.   One of the cyclists threw this little dog a bone and the dog proceeded to follow them for 24 days and ran 1,100 miles.   This story has the best ending possible with the cyclists deciding to adopt the little guy at the end of the ride.    There are so many pups across the world with no home and no one to love!   Here is hoping that all pups find a home.

I did smile while watching this video with the pup struggling to keep his eyes open.   He had to be exhausted after running 45 miles a day!

Priscilla Chan Walks Down the Aisle with Beast Zuckerberg

"Beast",  a Hungarian Puli,  walked his Mom, Priscilla Chan, down the aisle last week when she married his Dad, Mark Zuckerberg.   If you aren't following Beast on Facebook, you are missing out on some fun posts.    He has almost 36,000 fans and while he doesn't post often there are some pretty fun tidbits that come through!

Pet Poison iPhone app

Posted May 15 by Fido
If you haven't already checked out this out I would highly recommend it.   Pet Poison Helpline now offers a handy iPhone application that contains an extensive database of foods, drugs, chemicals and plants commonly found in the home and yard that are poisonous to pets.  The iPhone application’s comprehensive database includes more than 250 toxins, each with a description, list of symptoms and a full color photo, which is very helpful for identifying poisonous plants and flowers. The photos can be expanded to full screen size for easy identification with just the tap of a button. Each toxin entry has a bright yellow banner across the top that indicates the potential severity of the toxin, from “mild to moderate,” to “moderate to severe.”   When in the midst of a potential emergency, users can dial Pet Poison Helpline directly from the application on their phone.

I spent the $0.99 for the app and I feel better prepared.     Search "Pet Poison Help" in the app store on iTunes to find it.
