Being captured by a Bird of Prey saved this Poodle's life

This is one lucky little stray dog, who I'm sure wasn't feeling lucky when a bird of prey picked her up. The bird apparently dropped his "prey" and this stray poodle was lucky to fall to earth on the grounds of a Sechelt, B.C., nursing home, where it was eventually rescued, the SPCA says. Being captured by the bird likely saved her life.

The six-year-old toy poodle, dubbed "Miracle May," suffered talon gouges on its back and several broken ribs in the ordeal, said Shannon Broderick of the Sunshine Coast SPCA.

The dog has to undergo surgery but is expected to survive — which she might not have if she hadn't gone through the aerial ordeal, said Broderick. She said the dog was most likely a stray, and had obviously been neglected for some time before it was plucked from the ground and ended up on the grounds of the Shorncliff Nursing Home, where nurses found her.

Eagles are common in the Sunshine Coast area of B.C., where Sechelt is located, about 40 kilometres northwest of Vancouver.

The SPCA is trying to raise money for the care of May, who still needs extensive dental work.

The dog had no ID and nobody has responded to public appeals to claim ownership.

The Beckhams have a new Puppy!

David and Victoria Beckham have added a new pet to their family - a French bulldog puppy they have called Scarlet.

David and Victoria Beckham have got a new pet puppy.

The soccer superstar and the fashion designer adopted a French bulldog this weekend who they have named Scarlet.

They are hopeful the pooch will become friends with their bulldog Coco.

Victoria wrote on twitter: "This is Scarlet our new French bulldog puppy Coco has a sister!!"

After posting a picture of David with the mutt, she added: "David loves little Scarlet!!!! she is so cute!!!!!!x (sic)"

Scarlet can look forward to being a pampered pooch and is likely to be dressed up by Victoria.

In the past, the 37-year-old star has posted pictures of Coco dressed in a Halloween-themed necklace and wearing a bright pink bow with her nails painted red.

Shiba Inu Puppy Cam
